Dune is one of my all-time favorite books and series, so I was inspired to create a book cover that does justice to its subtle themes and intricate world-building. For this cover, I used my knowledge of the story and additional research to illustrate a cinematic scene depicting the world of Dune in oil paint. The analog method creates depth and tactility that lends itself well to this book, resulting in mesmerizing textures and movement. I used sci-fi-inspired typography and layout to bring the cover to life and guide the intended readers’ eyes down the cover.
